Tips for buying semi-shade houseplants

Do you have a spot in your house with light shade and would you like to know which houseplant will do best there? On this page, we will help you find the houseplant that suits you best.

What is a half-sun/ half-shade spot?
Actually, the title says it all: a spot where the houseplant gets a reasonable amount of daylight, but not full sun. Think of a north-facing window, but a spot near an east or west-facing window is also suitable. We advise against planting it directly in front of a south-facing window, keeping several metres away to avoid burning your plant.

Every room is different and curtains and other things can make it look slightly different. But the bottom line is that you need a bright spot without too much direct sunlight on your houseplant.

Which houseplants are suitable for half sun / half shade?
Good news! Actually, (almost) all houseplants are suitable. Both plants that like to stand in the sun and shade plants will do fine in a bright spot without too much direct sunlight.
